A Feline Friendly Morning: Fundraiser benefits Loudoun Community Cat Coalition

Leesburg Veterinary Hospital was proud to host “A Feline Friendly Morning,” this past Sunday at our practice. This special event brought together local vendors, artists, and LVH doctors and staff to raise money for the Loudoun Community Cat Coalition – a local non-profit organization whose mission is to save the lives of our local feral cat communities through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs. Leesburg Veterinary Hospital has hosted several TNR clinics in the past, helping to spay and neuter hundreds of cats. You can read more about these clinics here.
This weekend’s fundraiser raised over $700 for the Coalition. What’s more, LVH was excited to unveil their new cat friendly room for attendees. The hospital recently implemented the Cat Friendly Practice (CFP) program. You may recall that many of LVH staff members became Fear Free Certified earlier this year. Becoming a Cat Friendly Practice is another commitment to provide the most positive veterinary experiences for pets and their familes.
Being feline friendly means creating a calming environment for cats when they visit the vet. LVH wanted a special room where cats could feel comfortable and at ease during their exams. With the help of several LVH employees, they created a beautiful cat room, complete with soothing wall colors, feline-specific pheromone diffusers, music, and a beautiful wall mural. Talented local pet photographer Ellen Zangla took photos of cats in the new room in front of the artwork.

The Loudoun Community Cat Coalition raises money to save the lives of our local feral cat colonies through Trap Neuter Return (TNR) programs. TNR clinics reduce overpopulation and keep feral colonies healthy by spaying, neutering, vaccinating, and microchipping cats.
