Meet Bailey: The newest member of Team LVH!

Bailey will be spending the next few months at LVH getting some medical issues under control. After that he’ll be looking for a forever home.
Bailey came into Leesburg Veterinary Hospital last week to be euthanized because he was defecating outside of his litter box. Dr. Boyle could tell from her exam that he likely had an underlying health issue that was leading to this behavior. Bailey’s owner was not interested in pursuing diagnostics to determine the medical problem so Dr. Boyle asked that Bailey’s ownership be signed over to LVH.
A senior labwork profile has shown that Bailey is very healthy besides having hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism is a common endocrine disorder in older cats that can usually be well managed with daily medication. We fully anticipate that Bailey will stop defecating outside of his litter box after some time with us and as we get his thyroid disease under control. He will also likely have some pro bono dental work done in the next few weeks to assess some dental disease.
Bailey is a very handsome and incredibly sweet cat. (The photo above doesn’t do him justice!) He will need a home once his thyroid disease is under control and dental issues are resolved. Please contact us if you have any interest in adopting Bailey!
And stay tuned for weekly updates on Bailey’s road to recovery and his explorations around the hospital. You never know what kind of mischief a cute cat like this can get into around here…
